๐ŸDay 17๐Ÿ

The new week of my teaching practice began, and Monday was a duty-free day. I had a class in 8U where I discussed two key crises faced by farmers: pest infestation and the concept of sustainable agriculture. The morning was busy as I focused on creating a PowerPoint for the session, which came out beautifully with relevant images and a clean template that added to the learning experience. During the last hour, I had a substitution class in the same division. I provided the students with notes and followed it up with an engaging activity that allowed them to grasp the concepts practically. Reflection in Action : Managed to engage students with a relevant and informative PowerPoint, which captured their attention. Adapted quickly to the substitution class, using the time effectively by combining note-giving with an activity. Observed students actively participating in the activity, showing signs of understanding the topic. Reflection on Action: The PowerPoint helped enhance the clarity o...

Day 16: Small Moments, Big Impact

Image
**"Teaching is a work of heart"** My day began with the crisp morning air and the scent of spices as I joined the kitchen duty, cutting onions and potatoes for the midday meal. Although simple, these moments shared with my colleagues were filled with meaningful discussions on teaching concepts and classroom management, transforming mundane tasks into opportunities for growth and camaraderie. ๐ŸŒธToday, I didn't have any teaching hours in my original timetable. However, an unexpected opportunity arose during the 6th hour when I was asked to take a substitution class in 9D during their Malayalam period. I took the chance to give the students some biology notes, focusing on key concepts, and engaged them in a lively discussion. It felt rewarding to see them interact with the subject, even outside their scheduled time. ๐Ÿ˜ŠThe last hour of the day brought another surprise when I stepped in for my unwell colleague to take an additional class for 9I. The students were cooperative,...

**** Today was a special day, not just for teaching, but for raising awareness. During the 1st hour, I had the chance to lead an awareness session on the importance of the day as part of our Natural Science Association in class 7F on **World Environmental Health Day**. ๐ŸŒฟ We discussed the importance of maintaining a clean environment for our health and well-being. The students were engaged and curious, sharing their ideas on how they can contribute to a healthier planet. It felt inspiring to see their enthusiasm, as they pledged to make small changes like reducing plastic and planting more trees. ๐ŸŒณ Spent some good time in the canteen with my colleagues discussing  physical activity and further extracurricular programs for children. During the 5th hour, I shifted gears to take a class on **Respiration**, diving into the intricacies of **ventilation and alveolar exchange**. ๐Ÿซ I explained how our lungs breathe life into our bodies, with oxygen flowing in and carbon dioxide lea...

๐Ÿ’Ž First Observation ๐Ÿ’Ž

"Teaching is more than imparting knowledge; it is inspiring change."๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽ   Today was a rather busy but fulfilling day at school. The morning hours were dedicated to kitchen duty ๐Ÿด, where I assisted in cutting the vegetables for the the midday meal ๐Ÿฅ˜. It was a great opportunity to interact with other teacher trainees from different colleges  ๐Ÿ˜Š. Seeing the happy faces of students as they enjoyed the meal made all the hard work worth it! ๐Ÿฅฐ It’s always fulfilling to contribute to their well-being in such a direct way.   In the last hour, I had a class with 8U ๐ŸŒฟ, where I taught the topic *Fertility of Soil* ๐ŸŒฑ. Our college teacher observed the session ๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿซ, which added a bit of pressure, but I felt confident as the students were super engaged ๐Ÿค—. We discussed the factors that influence soil fertility, and I even included a group activity ๐Ÿ‘ซ that the students seemed to enjoy. It felt amazing to see them working together and sharing ideas ๐Ÿ’ก. The feedback from my...

Today marked the 13th day of my teaching practice after the Onam vacation, with schools reopening. I began my second period by introducing a new chapter on respiration to class 9D. The lesson involved breaking down the complex mechanisms of breathing and gas exchange, which I demonstrated using a model of the lungs. My peers observed the session, offering feedback on my teaching methods, and I also had the opportunity to show the demonstration to induction students visiting from St. Thomas school, which added a collaborative dynamic to the lesson. Following the morning sessions, I was assigned noon meal serving duty, where I interacted with students during lunch, a good opportunity to bond outside the classroom setting.  During the 5th hour,  As part of NSS DAY Celebratio, I and Arjun GM took class 9V Class through a journey of drug abuse awareness talk. The session was insightful and addressed critical issues surrounding substance abuse, reinforcing the importance of health e...
